Abstract:
This coated tool comprises a base and a coating layer located on the base. The coating layer has a plurality of each of AlTi layers containing aluminum and titanium and AlCr layers containing aluminum and chromium, the AlTi layers and the AlCr layers being positioned in an alternating manner. The coating layer has a plurality of each of first regions in which the thickness of the AlCr layers increases commensurately with increasing distance from the base, and second regions in which the thickness of the AlCr layers decreases commensurately with increasing distance from the base, the first regions and the second regions being present in an alternating manner along the thickness direction of the coating layer.
