Abstract:
This coated tool (1) has a first surface (5), a second surface (7), a cutting edge (11) positioned at least at a part of a ridge line between the first surface (5) and the second surface (7), a third surface (9) positioned opposite from the first surface (5), and a through-hole (15) extending from the first surface (5) to the third surface (9). An inner wall (17) constituting the through-hole (15) has, at least at a center part thereof, a binder-phase-enriched layer (19) having a higher binder phase content than the interior of a base body (3). The thickness T1 of the binder-phase-enriched layer (19) at the center part is greater than the thickness T2 of the binder-phase-enriched layer (19) at an end part of the inner wall. A coating layer (30) is positioned on at least the binder-phase-enriched layer (19). The coating layer (30) has a first layer (31) containing cubic-crystal titanium carbonitride. In the first layer (31), the orientation coefficient Tc (220) of the titanium carbonitride according to X-ray diffraction analysis is 3.0 or greater.
