Abstract:
A coated wire rope suitable for a running wire rope for cranes, elevators, etc. Wear of the rope caused by contact between a core rope and outer strands and contact between adjacent ones of the outer strands is prevented from occurring, wear of the rope caused by direct contact between a sheave and the outer strands is prevented from occurring, and excellent drive force transmission capability between the rope and the sheave and silence are realized. To achieve the above, uniformly spaced gaps defined by adjacent ones of outer strands (2) and the outer periphery of a core rope are formed by spacers, and the gaps are filled with a resin layer (301) integrated with an outer layer resin (300) positioned outside a circle circumscribing the outer strands.
