Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a coating agent for molded refractory articles, which is capable of forming a coating layer on the surface of a molded refractory article that is formed of a ceramic material or the like by being applied to the surface, said coating layer exhibiting excellent durability in terms of a molten metal such as molten aluminum that is highly erosive. This coating agent for molded refractory articles is characterized by containing, in terms of solid contents, 40-60% by mass in total of one or more substances selected from among silicon nitride, boron nitride and silicon carbide, 35-55% by mass of a fluoride, and 1-15% by mass of colloidal silica that serves as silica.
