Abstract:
The purpose of this invention is to provide: a coating composition which is easy to apply, has a rapid drying rate, minimal discoloration when heated, and excellent wear resistance; and a method for producing same. The coating composition is characterized by containing cellulose nanofibers which satisfy conditions (A) to (E) below, a water-miscible organic solvent, water and a resin, wherein the mass ratio of resin content to cellulose nanofiber content falls within the range of 2 to 500, inclusive. (A) Number-average fiber width in the short width is from 2 nm to 500 nm, inclusive. (B) Average aspect ratio is from 50 to 1000, inclusive. (C) Has a cellulose I-type crystalline structure. (D) Has an anionic functional group. (E) An organic compound having an organic value not exceeding 450 in the organic conceptual diagram is anionically bonded to an anionic functional group.
