Abstract:
Disclosed is a coating film drying furnace for drying a coating film, such as an electrode coating film for a lithium ion battery, while moving the coating film within a furnace body, said coating film having an absorption spectrum for an electromagnetic wave having a wavelength of 3.5 µm or less, and hydrogen-bonded molecules. Infrared heaters (11) are arranged within a furnace body (10), and each infrared heater is formed by coaxially overlapping tubes (13, 14) on the outer periphery of a filament (12), each tube functioning as a lowpass filter. A fluid passage (16) is formed between the tubes. Thus, a workpiece is concentrically irradiated with near infrared rays having a wavelength of 3.5 µm or less and an excellent ability for breaking the hydrogen bonds between molecules while the increase of temperature within the furnace is suppressed and the explosion of organic solvent steam is prevented, so that the coating film is efficiently heated and dried.
