Abstract:

A coating film forming agent that can form on the outer circumference of tapping screw a coating film capable of trapping any internal thread formation waste occurring at the time of driving the tapping screw into a pilot hole of work and thus capable of preventing any scattering of internal thread formation waste to environment; and a tapping screw with coating film formed with the use of the coating film forming agent. This coating film forming agent is a composition composed mainly of either calcium montanate or a montanate mixture containing calcium montanate, a thermoplastic resin emulsion and water. With the use of this coating film forming agent, a coating film with lubricating function and internal thread formation waste trapping function can be formed around the outer circumference of tapping screw.
