Provided is a coating film transfer tool equipped with: a feeding section comprising a feeding reel on which a transfer tape with a coating film provided on a substrate tape is wound and a feeding gear connected to said feeding reel; a transfer head for pressing the transfer tape fed from the feeding reel onto a transfer object to transfer the coating film onto the transfer object; and a winding section comprising a winding reel for winding the substrate tape after transfer of the coating film and a winding gear connected to said winding reel. The feeding gear and the winding gear mesh with each other and rotate together. A first reel, which is either the feeding reel or the winding reel, is connected to a first gear, which is either the feeding gear or the winding gear, so as to allow slipping. The outer circumferential portion of the second gear, which is either the feeding gear or the winding gear and is not the first gear, is interposed between the first gear and the first reel. The first gear and/or the first reel are provided with a restricting mechanism for restricting the widening of the distance between the first gear and the first reel, which are on either side of the second gear.
