A coating liquid for a gas barrier, comprising a polycarboxylic acid-based polymer, a polyvalent metal ion, a volatile base or acid excluding carbonic acid, a carbonate ion, and a solvent, the total of the mol number of the volatile base or acid excluding carbonic acid and the mol number of the carbonate ion being 0.05 to 8.5 mol, where the mol number of the polyvalent metal ion is 1.
