Abstract:
A coating material for controlling the attachment of alga and shellfish, which has advantages, for example, that it contains no harmful ingredients and gives a coating film which does not dissolve away and retains its performances for long, and that the processing cost is low because the coating material is inexpensive, is water-based, and hence attains satisfactory working efficiency. The coating material comprises, as major components, (a) 2-6 parts by weight of silver oxide, (b) 4-30 parts by weight of sodium thiosulfate, (c) 15-35 parts by weight of a filler, (d) 12-26 parts by weight, on a solid basis, of a binder, and (e) water [provided that (a)+(b)+(c)+(d)+(e) is 100 parts by weight].
