Abstract:
A coating material from which a green sheet that even if it is an extremely thin green sheet, has strength capable of bearing with detachment from a support and excels in surface smoothness, being free of pinholes can be produced, which coating material is suitable for layer thickness reduction and layer multiplication for electronic parts; and a green sheet and process therefor. In particular, there is provided a coating material for green sheet, comprising ceramic powder, a binder resin composed mainly of a butyral resin, and a solvent. This solvent comprises a first solvent whose SP value quantifying the parameter of power of dissolving the binder resin is 10 or higher and a second solvent whose SP value is in the range of 8 to less than 10. In the coating material, the second solvent is contained in an amount of 20 to 60 mass%, preferably 25 to 60 mass%, based on the total mass (100 mass%) of solvents.
