Abstract:
Provided are: a coating material for an optical fiber, which can improve interfacial adhesive strength between an optical glass fiber and a coating layer and which can be easily coated; a coated optical fiber that contains said coating material; and a method for producing the coated optical fiber. The coating material for an optical fiber contains an ultraviolet radiation-curable resin, a silane coupling agent, a photoacid generator that generates an acid upon irradiation with light and/or a thermal acid generator that generates an acid by the action of heat, and an epoxy group-containing compound. The coated optical fiber comprises an optical glass fiber and a coating layer that coats the optical glass fiber, and at least one layer that constitutes the coating layer comprises the coating material for an optical fiber.
