Abstract:
The present invention provides a coating method which enables adequate coating of a function film on a first surface of a light-transmitting member. According to the present invention, when a hydrophilic film is formed on the surface of an antireflection film 8 by coating, after the formation of the antireflection film 8 on a first lens surface 11a of a first lens 11, the surface of the antireflection film 8 is irradiated with a plasma P, thereby enhancing the hydrophilicity of the surface. Subsequently, after immersing the first lens surface 11a in an aqueous treatment liquid 90 in an immersion step ST3, the first lens surface 11a is pulled up and then the first lens 11 is rotated, while keeping the first lens surface 11a face down, thereby removing excess treatment liquid 95 from the first lens surface 11a in a liquid removal step ST5. Consequently, the area where the treatment liquid 90 is applied and the thickness of the treatment liquid 90 can be controlled by the immersion depth of the first lens surface 11a in the immersion step ST2, the rotational speed of the first lens 11 in the liquid removal step ST5, and the like.
