Disclosed are a coaxial connector and an assembly method thereof that can prevent plastic deformation of a movable terminal and can remove contact trouble between the movable terminal and a stationary terminal when the movable terminal is displaced by a central conductor of a coaxial plug. The coaxial connector, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, comprises: an insulating housing main body that includes an upper insulating housing having a hole formed therein into which a central conductor of a coaxial plug is inserted and a lower insulating housing to which the upper insulating housing is mounted from above; an external conductor installed on the exterior of the insulating housing main body; a stationary terminal secured to the upper insulating housing; and a movable terminal that is secured to the lower insulating housing and formed in a plate spring shape so as to be displaced by the central conductor of the coaxial plug and makes contact with the stationary terminal, wherein the stationary terminal has a contact portion protruding from the bottom of a stationary terminal fixing part that is secured to the upper insulating housing, and the pressure by which the stationary terminal makes contact with the movable terminal can be increased by the protruding contact portion.
