Abstract:
A coaxial TM10,1,0 mode coupled cavity chain, comprising multiple coupled TM10,1,0 mode coaxial resonant cavities, and drift tubes arranged at radial positions where an axial electric field in the TM10,1,0 mode coaxial resonant cavities reaches a maximum value. Coupling of adjacent TM10,1,0 mode coaxial resonant cavities is achieved by means of coupling slots provided on a common cavity wall. Outer radii and inner radii of the TM10,1,0 mode coaxial resonant cavities are configured according to a predetermined frequency of the TM10,1,0 mode coaxial resonant cavities. By coupling the multiple TM10,1,0 mode coaxial resonant cavities via the coupling slots, the coaxial TM10,1,0 mode coupled cavity chain operates at a higher-order mode, and thus can be designed to have a large crosswise dimension and accommodate a large number of drift tubes and electron beams. In addition, the spacing between adjacent drift tubes is increased, allowing the use of an electron gun having a large cathode area. In this way, the present invention improves efficiency and power without affecting the stability and service life of a device, and enables the device to have superior performance in the THz band.
