Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to collect cobalt with high purity from a solution of interest in which cobalt and an impurity metal are dissolved. A cobalt collection method comprising: adding an alkali to a solution of interest to adjust the pH value of the solution to 4 to 7, inclusive (step S3); subjecting precipitates that have been precipitated in step S3 and contain crystals of a salt of an impurity metal to a solid-liquid separation procedure (step S4); adding an alkali to the solution of interest which is obtained after step S4 to adjust the pH value of the solution to 7 or higher (step S5); subjecting precipitates which have been precipitated in step S5 and contain crystals of a cobalt salt to a solid-liquid separation procedure (step S6); dissolving the precipitates which are obtained after step S6 in an inorganic acid (step S7-1); adding an alkali to the resultant re-dissolved solution to adjust the pH value of the solution to 4 to 7, inclusive (step S7-2); causing precipitates which have been precipitated in step S7-2 and contain crystals of a salt of the impurity metal to settle out under their own weight or by centrifugation, thereby separating the solution into a supernatant and a slurry containing the precipitates (step S7-3); adding an alkali to a re-dissolved solution that is the supernatant obtained after step S7-3 to adjust the pH value of the solution to 7 or higher (step S7-4); and subjecting precipitates which are precipitated in step S7-4 and contain crystals of a cobalt salt to a solid-liquid separation procedure (step S7-5).
