Abstract:
Provided are a cobalt extractant capable of selectively extracting cobalt from an acidic solution containing a high concentration of manganese, and a cobalt extraction method in which the cobalt extractant is used. This cobalt extractant contains a carboxylic acid-based extractant and an oxime-based extractant, and the molar ratio between the two extractants is from 40:60 to 60:40. The carboxylic acid-based extractant is preferably selected from a versatic acid-based, naphthenic acid-based, oleic acid-based, or lauric acid-based substance or a combination thereof. The oxime-based extractant is preferably ketoxime-based. This cobalt extractant is preferably used for an acidic solution containing manganese and cobalt. The pH of the acidic solution is further preferably adjusted in advance to a range of 3.5 to 4.5 before the solution is subjected to solvent extraction using this cobalt extractant.
