Abstract:
This coding device (100) for coding a block to be coded using a motion vector is provided with a circuit and a memory. The circuit, using the memory and by referencing a first region in a reference picture, estimates, without using an image of the block to be coded, a motion vector of the block to be coded, and, using the estimated motion vector, performs motion compensation. The circuit identifies a second region in the reference picture referenced during a correction process for correcting a predicted image, obtained by means of the estimated motion vector or motion compensation, of the block to be coded, permits the correction process if the second region is included in the first region, and prohibits the correction process if the second region is not included in the first region.
