Abstract:

Provided are a coding method and codec with dynamic power consumption control. The codec comprises: a control unit, an initial coding unit, and L incremental coding units, wherein the control unit is configured to enable, in a RS(N0, K) operating mode, only the initial coding unit to perform coding, or to enable, in a RS(Nj, K) operating mode, only the initial coding unit and the first j incremental coding units of the L incremental coding units to perform coding; the initial coding unit is configured to perform RS FEC coding on m(x) to obtain a quotient formula D0(x) and a remainder formula R0(x) of xN 0 -Km(x) with respect to g0(x); the (h+1)th incremental coding unit is configured to obtain a quotient formula Dh+1(x) and a remainder formula Rh+1(x) of xN h+1 -Km(x) with respect to gh+1(x), according to the quotient formula D0(x) and the remainder formula R0(x).
