Abstract:
Provided are a coil component manufacturing method by which a plurality of coil components can be manufactured in a shorter time, and a coil component. The coil component manufacturing method according to the present invention comprises: a step of burying a plurality of coils in a planar elemental body which is a molded body including magnetic material particles, wherein the plurality of coils are buried such that the respective winding axes are disposed in a matrix so as to extend along a thickness direction of the elemental body, with one end being exposed on one main surface of the elemental body and the other end being exposed on another main surface of the elemental body; a step of forming electrode films on the one main surface and the other main surface of the elemental body, the electrode films providing input/output terminals in contact with the one end or the other end of each of the plurality of coils; and a step of cutting the elemental body between the mutually adjacent coils in the thickness direction into individual pieces providing individual coil components.
