Abstract:
[Problem] To obtain desired inductance characteristics in a coil device made by combining C-shaped core pieces and rectangular parallelepiped core pieces, regardless of variations in the shapes of the C-shaped core pieces. [Solution] This coil device is made by winding a coil around a toroidal core, the core comprising: a pair of C-shaped core pieces (2) each made by winding or layering a metal strip sheet; rectangular parallelepiped core pieces (3) each interposed between the pair of C-shaped core pieces; and magnetic gap sections (G) each interposed between an end surface of the C-shaped core piece (2) and an end surface of the rectangular parallelepiped core piece (3). Each rectangular parallelepiped core piece (3) is made of a dust core formed by pressurization. Given that T1 is the height, in the layering direction of the strip sheet, of the end surface of the C-shaped core piece (2) that opposes the rectangular parallelepiped core piece across the magnetic gap section (G) and T2 is the height of the end surface of the rectangular parallelepiped core piece (3), T2>T1 holds true.
