　Provided is a coil that has no restrictions on the cross-sectional shape of the conducting wire constituting the coil, that is easy to manufacture and handle, that is easily inserted in slots and increases occupancy, and has good efficiency as a result of a reduction in the size of the coil ends when used as an electromechanical device.　The coil is provided with: first and second accommodated portions 11a, 11b, that are accommodated in slots 22; first and second coil ends 12a, 12b, that are disposed on the outside of a rotor 20 and are continuous between the first and second accommodated portions 11a, 11b; and two holding jigs 30 that hold windings 10A constituting the first and second accommodated portions 11a, 11b, while holding said windings in an aligned state. When the two holding jigs are made to rotate relative to one another, a torsional portion 10d is formed in the first and second coil ends 12a, 12b, while the windings 10A constituting the first and second accommodated portions 11a, 11b are maintained in an aligned state.
