Abstract:

A coil forming device (50) has a plurality of forming dies (1S-4S) capable of rotating about the center of curvature of an inner peripheral surface, the center of curvature being aligned with the axis (P) of a rotating shaft; a plurality of clamping dies (1C-4C) capable of rotating about the center of curvature of an inner peripheral surface, the center of curvature being aligned with the axis (P) of the rotating shaft; a drive mechanism (52) for rotationally driving the forming dies and the clamping dies; and a drive direction change mechanism (51) for changing the rotational direction of the forming dies (1S-4S) and the clamping dies (1C-4C). A forming die and a clamping die which form a pair and which grip, from both sides in the circumferential direction, the rectilinear sections (61a1-61b2) of a coil preform (6) having been subjected to plane bending have the same width in the radial direction of the coil forming device (50). The forming dies and the clamping dies, the forming and clamping dies gripping a plurality of rectilinear sections (61a1-61b2) arranged from the inner peripheral side to the outer peripheral side of the coil forming device (50), are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction with the rectilinear sections (61a1-61b2) therebetween.
