Abstract:
The present invention relates to a coil spring, such as a compression coil spring or a tension coil spring, and a manufacturing method therefor. The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a coil spring, comprising the steps of: preparing a rod made of spring steel; forming a hole through the longitudinal center of the rod, wherein the hole corresponds to the inner diameter of the spring; and forming a coil-shaped portion by spirally cutting the outer surface of the rod to the vicinity of the inner diameter. According to the present invention, it is possible to manufacture a coil spring having a relatively much higher resilience, rigidity, and durability than a conventional coil spring. In addition, according to the present invention, thanks to the structure in which the coil-shaped portion is formed in the center of the rod, and opposite ends of the coil-shaped portion form cylindrical tubular portions, it is possible to manufacture a special form of coil spring in which a coil-shaped portion is formed on a portion of the body thereof and is not formed on the rest of the body. Furthermore, according to the present invention, it is possible to form curved portions having different outer diameters by forming a concave or convex structure on the outer peripheral surface of the rod and to manufacture a special form of coil spring having a coil part that is formed on the curved portions.
