Abstract:
A coin discrimination method for discriminating a coin by using an image of the coin. The method accurately detects the center of the coin in its image, and the method has a step of acquiring an image of a coin by using image acquisition means, a step of calculating and processing, by using a previously prepared calculation table, image data outputted from the image acquisition means and sorting each pixel data, which forms the image data, into effective pixels and ineffective pixels, and a step of detecting the position of the center of the coin based on the image data prepared by the calculation and processing.
