Abstract:
The present invention provides a coin wear or deformation detection device that can detect wear or deformation of the edge part of a coin rim. The present invention is a device for detecting wear or deformation at the edge part of a coin rim, this coin wear or deformation detection device characterized by having: a light source unit for irradiating light within a range for which the irradiation angle with respect to the coin surface in a ring shape greater than the coin diameter exceeds 0 degrees and is 45 degrees or less; an imaging unit that images the overall reflective image of the coin irradiated using the light source unit; and a determination unit that determines the presence or absence of wear or deformation at the rim of the coin based on brightness distribution of the rim in the overall reflective image imaged by the imaging unit.
