Abstract:
The invention relates to flat display terminals based on cold emission cathodes. The inventive cold emission film cathode comprises an insulated base which can be made of glass, and fitted with a nano-crystalline carbon film emitter arranged thereon. Said emitter is embodied in the form of grains of a monolayer of a powder of a refractory material having a grain size ranging from 10?-9¿ to 10?-4¿, said grains being covered with a nano-crystalline carbonaceous film. The inventive flat display terminal comprises flat glass plates on one of which a system of cold emission cathodes, embodied in the form of busbars, is arranged. Said invention makes it possible to use cheap glass and even polymeric materials for manufacturing a cathode unit of the display terminal, in addition to the use of standard processing for glueing and vacuum-pumping the display terminal.
