Title:
COLLECTING PORTION STRUCTURE FOR EXHAUST MANIFOLD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/056591
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In a collecting portion structure for an exhaust manifold, those portions of branch pipes (2 to 5) that are connected to a head flange (1) are arranged in a straight line. A reinforcement member (9) for collectively fixing the downstream-side portions of the branch pipes (2 to 5) is constructed from two flat plates (10, 11) that each have substantially the same length as the inner diameter of the collecting portion (6) and are combined with each other in a substantially cross shape by fitting them into slits (S1, S2) formed at the centers of the plates so as to face each other. Of the two flat plates (10, 11), the flat plate (11) in which the slit (S2) is formed on the upstream side of exhaust gas is disposed on a line (A2) that is parallel to the line (Al) in which those portions of the branch pipes (2 to 5) that are connected to the head flange (1) are arranged.
