Title:
COLLECTOR ARRANGEMENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2005083738
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
A collector (30) for an linear electron beam tube such as an inductive output tube has various features for improved performance. A non-conductive spacer (60) is located between electrodes (32, 34) having a physical path length around the spacer being shorter on a first side than the second side. The drift tube of the electron beam tube also has surface features designed to enhance secondary electron capture. The RF leads for the electrode stages are coupled together or to ground to remove unwanted RF frequencies. There is a spacer (91) between the electrode stages and the outer housing to provide support. The electrode stages are arranged so there is a gap with no feasible electron path for electrons to pass through the gap between electrode stages.
