Abstract:
This collision avoidance assistance device is provided with: an avoidance leeway amount estimation unit that, on the basis of a collision prediction position in the vehicle width direction of a vehicle and an object, estimates the avoidance leeway amount in the vehicle width direction for being able to avoid a collision of the vehicle and the object by means of steering; and an assistance execution unit such that the smaller the collision leeway amount, the greater the promotion of assistance for avoiding a collision between the vehicle and the object.
