Abstract:
In S110, a road structure in a direction of progress is recognized. The process proceeds to S120, wherein a change of a steering angle with regard to time is predicted if it is assumed that travel will follow the road. Using a prediction value of the steering angle derived in S120 and information from internal sensors, an assessment is made of the probability of a course change. The process proceeds to S140, wherein, using a travel situation, an assessment is made of the probability of the course change. The process proceeds to S150, wherein a determination is made of a collision avoidance assistance operation mode according to a combination of the probability values assessed by the foregoing two techniques.
