Abstract:
This collision avoidance device (20) comprises a travel state calculation unit (21), a target detection unit (23), a target state calculation unit (24), a laterally moving object discrimination unit (25), a collision determination unit (27), and a collision-avoidance control unit (28). On the basis of a laterally moving object traversing time (i) at which the laterally moving object would traverse a local vehicle path (32), which is the moving path of the local vehicle, and a local vehicle arrival time (ii) at which the local vehicle would reach a laterally moving object path (37), which is the moving path of the laterally moving object, the collision-avoidance control unit calculates a brake actuation timing for enabling the laterally moving object to traverse the local vehicle path before the local vehicle reaches the mobile object path, and actuates the brake when the calculated actuation timing is reached.
