Abstract:
A collision detection apparatus (20) is configured so as to detect a collision between a vehicle (1) and an object present outside the vehicle. This collision detection apparatus is provided with a collision sound generating device (21), a sound sensor (24), and a collision determination unit (26). The collision sound generating device is mounted to a vehicle body (2) of the vehicle, and is configured so as to generate a prescribed sound when a collision occurs between the vehicle and the object. By being installed in the vehicle body, the sound sensor is provided so as to detect sound generated by the collision sound generating device. The collision determination unit is provided so as to determine the occurrence of a collision between the vehicle and the object on the basis of a detection result from the sound sensor.
