A collision detection device (1) for a vehicle has: a bumper absorber (2) disposed between a bumper cover (8) and a bumper reinforcement (9) for the vehicle; a tube member (3) for detection, the tube member (3) being mounted in a groove (21a, 211a-213a, 227b) formed in the bumper absorber so as to extend in the width direction of the vehicle; and a pressure sensor (4) for detecting pressure within a hollow section (3a) formed inside the tube member for detection. The tube member for detection is mounted in the groove formed in the rear surface (21b, 211b-213b) of a front absorber (21, 211-213) and/or the front surface (22a, 221a-227a) of a rear absorber (22, 221-227), the rear surface (21b, 211b-213b) and the front surface (22a, 221a-227a) facing each other. When measured in the front-rear direction of the vehicle, the thickness (L) of the portion of the front absorber, which is located in front, relative to the vehicle, of the tube member for detection mounted in the groove, is uniform along the entire length of the front absorber in the width direction of the vehicle.
