Abstract:
Provided is a collision detection device for a vehicle, the device comprising: a bumper absorber (2) which is disposed within a bumper (7) of the vehicle and to the vehicle front side of a bumper reinforcement (9); a tube member for detection (3) which is mounted in a groove section (2a) formed in the bumper absorber along the width direction of the vehicle, and in the interior of which a hollow section (3a) is formed; and a pressure sensor (4) which detects the pressure in the hollow section of the tube member for detection. The collision detection device for a vehicle detects the collision of an object with the bumper on the basis of pressure detection results from the pressure sensor. The collision detection device for a vehicle is provided with at least one outer peripheral member (31) that is disposed at a prescribed position on the tube member for detection in the width direction of the vehicle, that covers the outer peripheral surface of the tube member for detection on at least the upper side or the lower side with respect to the vehicle, and that is more rigid than the tube member for detection.
