Abstract:
A collision determination device comprises: a radar detection unit which detects, with radar waves, an object which is ahead of a vehicle; an image detection unit which captures an image ahead of the vehicle and detects an object with the image thus captured; and a collision determination unit which, on the basis of a composite target which is generated using the result of the detection by the radar detection unit and the result of the detection by the image detection unit, determines a collision with the vehicle and the object. If it is not possible to detect the object with the radar detection unit and it is possible to detect the object with the image detection unit, and moreover, if it is determined that the object is stationary in the direction of progress of the vehicle, the collision determination unit carries out the collision determination on the basis of the result of the detection by the image detection unit, instead of the collision determination on the basis of the composite target.
