Disclosed is a collision prevention device capable of executing appropriate vehicle control in order to avoid a collision of a vehicle with a mobile object. Specifically disclosed is a collision prevention device for preventing a collision of a vehicle with a mobile object, said collision prevention device being provided with: a side mobile object detection means which detects the mobile object approaching from the side of the vehicle; a side collision determination means which, when the mobile object approaching from the side of the vehicle is detected by the side mobile object detection means, determines whether the risk of the collision of the vehicle with the mobile object is high or not; a passage avoidance determination means which, when it is determined that the risk of the collision of the vehicle with the mobile object is high, determines whether the possibility that the vehicle can avoid the collision with the mobile object by passing in front of the mobile object is high or not; and an acceleration/deceleration state control means which controls the acceleration/deceleration state of the vehicle according to the result of the determination by the passage avoidance determination means.
