Abstract:
A colloidal damper comprises: (I) a cylinder device (40) which comprises a housing (42) connected to a vehicle body (32) and a piston (44) connected to a wheel-holding member (26); (II) a colloidal-solution-sealed body (92, 98) which comprises (A) a colloidal solution (90, 96) comprising a mixture of a porous material (100) having many pores and a first working fluid (88, 94) and (B) a sealing container (80, 82) that has flexibility and can seal the colloidal solution (90, 96) in such a state that the colloidal solution (90, 96) is filled therein, wherein the colloidal-solution-sealed body (92, 98) is accommodated in a chamber (62) formed by the housing (42) and the piston (44); and (III) a second working fluid (110) which is filled in the chamber (62) together with the colloidal-solution-sealed body (92, 98). Because the colloidal solution (90, 96) is sealed in the container (80, 82), the grazing of the porous material (100) against the housing (42) or the piston (44) can be prevented.
