Abstract:
[Problem] Although color attributes of an image are represented by a histogram of R, G, B in photo-retouching software, considerable experience and proficiency are needed to understand a relationship with an actual image. [Solution] All pixels of image data are classified into 256 luminance gradation levels, and pixels belonging to an n-th gradation level (n=0 to 255) are mapped to a right-angled isosceles triangle-shaped pseudo xy chromaticity diagram. The mapped pixels (MPs) are projected by mapping from within the pseudo xy chromaticity diagram into an equilateral triangle, and then from within the equilateral triangle to the circumcircle of the equilateral triangle to thereby obtain an n-th gradation-level gradation-level-based chromaticity circle 30(n) in which the MPs are distributed. A chromaticity circle and a color space front view are displayed on the basis of cylindrical HSV color space data created by gradation-level-based chromaticity circles 30(n) corresponding to 256 gradation levels. Operation tools such as a cursor are also displayed thereon. The pixels of the image data and the MPs of the HSV color space data are associated with each other, and the movement of the MPs by the operation tool and the like are reflected in color attributes of an image.
