Abstract:
A glass frit which comprises a-4PbO B¿2?O¿3? crystal powder and/or Pb¿3?O¿4? crystal powder as a crystallized filler and one or more of particulate a-alumina, MgO, Fe¿2?O¿3? and monoclinic ZrO¿2?; and a color cathode-ray tube which uses the glass frit and exhibits a maximum tensile stress generated in a sealing portion when the inside of the tube is evacuated of 7 to 10 Mpa and a proportion of the presence of crystals in the interface of a sealing portion having the above maximum tensile stress of 50 % or more. The color cathode-ray tube allows the achievement of the light weight thereof through the improvement of the strength of a sealing portion.
