Abstract:
A subject region detection means detects a subject region, which is a region to be subjected to image processing, from an input image. A reflection component reconstruction means calculates color information in the subject region, calculates a body reflection component, which is a low-frequency component in the subject region, and reconstructs a specular component on the basis of the color information and the low-frequency component. A specular component correction means corrects the reconstructed specular component according to a reference specular component, which is a specular component that was pre-set according to the subject region. A reproduction color calculation means calculates the reproduction color, in which the color of each pixel in the input image is corrected using the body reflection component and the corrected specular component, and generates an output image on the basis of the reproduction color.
