Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a colored microparticle dispersion which contains emulsion particles each comprising a pigment and a polymer, wherein the polymer has both a constituent unit derived from a compound (A) represented by general formula (I) and a constituent unit derived from a polymerizable monomer comprising a hydrophobic vinyl monomer; a method for producing the colored microparticle dispersion; an aqueous ink for inkjet recording use, which contains the colored microparticle dispersion; and a use of the colored microparticle dispersion as a coloring agent for an aqueous ink for inkjet recording use. When the colored microparticle dispersion is used in an aqueous ink for inkjet recording use, the aqueous ink can have excellent storage stability, can exhibit excellent rub fastness when printed on a poorly water-absorbable recording medium, and is rarely increased in viscosity when concentrated. (In formula (I), BO represents a butyleneoxy group; EO represents an ethyleneoxy group; M represents a cation; m means the average number of moles of BO added and represents 1 to 10 inclusive; and n means the average number of moles of EO added and represents 4 to 25 inclusive.)
