Abstract:
Provided is a coloring composition which is capable of providing images that have excellent light resistance, ozone gas resistance and moisture resistance, is capable of forming images that have excellent color tones, and is capable of sufficiently preventing clogging in an ink supply path. The coloring composition has satisfactory storage stability and is useful for a yellow inkjet recording ink. Also provided is an azo compound. The coloring composition contains at least two colorants, namely a first colorant and a second colorant. The first colorant is a compound represented by general formula (Y), and the second colorant is, for example, the compound (8). The amount (mass%) of the second colorant contained in the composition relative to the amount (mass%) of the first colorant contained in the composition is 0.001-1.0 (inclusive) in terms of mass ratio. (In general formula (Y), each M independently represents a hydrogen atom or a cation; and when one M represents a cation, the cation is an Li+ ion, an Na+ ion, a K+ ion or an NH4 + ion.)
