Title:
COMBINED ILLUMINATOR AND INSECTICIDAL APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1982/000567
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Insecticidal apparatus which also serves as an illuminator. The insecticidal apparatus includes a case (2) having a projecting flange formed along the entire lower edge of a hemisphere, a transformer (10) accommodated within the case 82), the transformer serving as a stabilizer and high-voltage generator, and insecticidal unit, and an insect attracting lamp (5). The transformer 810) comprises a primary winding composed of at least two coils (A), (B) for the insect attracting lamp stabilizer, which coils are wound on a single iron core, and a secondary winding for generating a high voltage. When using the apparatus as an electric shock insecticidal device, an electric shock grid (7) is attached to the central portion of the circular attracting lamp (5). Turning on the lamp applies simultaneously an insecticidal high-voltage to the shock grid (7). If the apparatus is to be employed as a device for entrapping insects, an adhesive insect entrapping cylinder (19) incorporating an insect attracting agent is interchangeably attached to the central portion of the circular attracting lamp (5). The apparatus can serve as both an illuminator and electric shock insecticidal unit by replacing the circular insect attracting lamp (5) with a fluorescent lamp providing a rod-type attracting lamp in the center of the shock grid.
