Abstract:
A combiner (20A, 20B) is formed by optically joining a plurality of input fibers (21) that propagate excitation light emitted from an excitation light source (11A, 11B) and a relay fiber (24) connected to an amplification fiber (40), wherein: the combiner includes a bundle section (22) in which the plurality of input fibers are bundled and a melted section (23) in which the plurality of input fibers are melted and integrated; and at the interface (I) between the relay fiber and the melted section, the plurality of input fibers are mutually fused without gaps therebetween.
