Abstract:

The present invention provides: a combiner including a projection image display unit for displaying a projection image through use of projection light, the combiner including a substrate, the combiner including a half mirror film in at least the projection image display unit, the combiner including the half mirror film and the substrate in this order from the incidence side of the projection light, the half mirror film including two or more cholesteric liquid crystal layers, the central wavelengths of selective reflection of the two or more cholesteric liquid crystal layers being mutually different, and the cholesteric liquid crystal layer nearest the incidence side of the projection light having the longest central wavelength of selective reflection; and a head-up display system including the projection image display member. This combiner makes it possible to display a projection image having high luminance, in which the occurrence of double images is reduced.
