Abstract:
A combustion chamber structure of a divided gas engine, wherein the auxiliary combustion chamber (4) of the divided gas engine is formed in a recessed part of generally square shape in the longitudinal section and the opening position of a fuel feed passage (68) feeding fuel gas for auxiliary chamber to the auxiliary combustion chamber (4) is set to the upper end corner part of the generally square shape in cross section. On the other hand, the direction of supply of the fuel gas for combustion chamber toward the inside of the auxiliary combustion chamber (4) is set to a direction along the diagonal line of the generally square shape in cross section. When a part of lean mixture in a main combustion chamber (3) flows into the auxiliary combustion chamber (4) according to the movement of a piston (5) in a compression stroke, the fuel gas for auxiliary chamber is forced in near an ignition plug (7) to highly maintain a gas concentration around the igniting point (S) of the ignition plug (7). Also, as the fuel gas is forced in those areas more apart from the igniting point, the mixing ratio of the lean mixture to the fuel gas for auxiliary chamber is more increased. Accordingly, a pressure and a temperature around the ignition plug in igniting can be appropriated while providing excellent ignitability and flame propagation.
