Title:
COMBUSTION PROMOTER OPERATING UNIT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1990/001620
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A combustion promoter operating unit, in which a pressure-receiving piston (6) is provided on a cylinder head (2) or a piston (3) in an internal combustion engine. The piston (6) is moved toward a combustion chamber (4) up to an upper dead point by a hydraulic pressure to supply compressed air to a smaller cylinder (8). When the piston (6) has moved beyond the upper dead point, the hydraulic pressure is released, so that a smaller piston (7) fixed to the piston (6) is moved in the opposite direction by the pressure in the combustion chamber (4). At the same time, the air in the smaller cylinder (8) is ejected into the combustion chamber (4) to apply a turbulent flow to the combustion flames, whereby the combustion of the gaseous mixture is promoted.
