Abstract:
This combustion system is capable of using a petroleum pitch fuel, and is provided with a burner (100) having a fuel supply pipe with a baffle plate formed at the distal end, and a high-temperature maintenance means (2) for maintaining the ambient temperature in proximity to the baffle plate at a temperature higher than the softening point of the petroleum pitch fuel during operation. Thus, even in cases of using petroleum pitch as fuel, deposition and hardening of petroleum pitch inside the burner, rendering the burner unusable, does not occur, and continuous combustion operation for extended periods is possible.
