Abstract:
Disclosed is a common mode filter that passes ultra-high speed differential signals through, and impedes the passage of common mode noise. A ladder-shaped differential four-terminal circuit comprises passive serial elements and passive parallel elements that are positioned in differential wire paths (1, 3), wherein a lumped constant differential delay line (DL) is formed by positioning inductors (Ls) for the passive serial elements and capacitors (Co) for the passive parallel elements. Between the inductors that form pairs between differential wire paths within a given zone, the inductors (Ls) are set to have an induction of a polarity, such that a negative coupling with respect to the differential signals and a positive coupling with respect to the common mode noise results, the difference between the inductance of the inductors (Ls) and the mutual inductance of the mutual induction (m) with respect to the differential signals are caused to function as series elements, and the sum of the inductance of the inductors (Ls) and the mutual inductance of the mutual induction (m) with respect to the common mode noise are caused to function as series elements. The inductor (L1) is connected between the connection site (T1) of the capacitors (Co/2) and the ground potential of the lumped constant differential delay line (DL).
